World Cancer Day

From LowellGeneral.orgFebruary 4, 2012 was World Cancer Day, a global initiative to save lives and to end cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find a cure.

The Cancer Center at Lowell General Hospital was proudly welcomed a proclamation from Office of the Mayor of the City of Lowell, saluting the cancer survivors who have triumphed over the disease and recognizing the initiative of fighting cancer locally with energy, devotion and compassion.

Mayor Patrick O. Murphy attended a reception of staff and patients, including Chelmsford resident David Eberiel, a five-year prostate cancer survivor. Mr. Eberiel credits early detection of his cancer to the success of his treatment.
